First-Response Comfort Program
A comfort lamb for the child and a resource packet for their caregiver, in the first hours after disclosure.
Part of our Respond pillar
Through partners like child advocacy centers and hospitals, ROAR places a comfort package into a child’s hands during forensic interviews and medical evaluations. At the same time, their safe caregiver receives clear, local guidance for the days ahead.
What’s in a comfort package
A ROAR lamb
Soft, huggable and theirs to keep. A small reminder that someone sees them and they are not alone.
A ROAR storybook
An original children’s book where the lamb walks beside a child as they find their own courage.
A caregiver resource packet
Trusted Nashville resources for therapy, advocacy, legal help and family support, in plain language.
A note from ROAR
How to reach us, and what we can help with when the family is ready.
How it reaches a family
- ROAR stocks comfort packages at partner child advocacy centers and hospitals.
- Staff give a package to the child and caregiver during an interview or evaluation.
- The caregiver reaches out to ROAR whenever they are ready, or not at all. It is their choice.
- ROAR follows up with resource navigation and support for the road ahead.
